It stays with me, in case of emergency. But I don't use it.

Every week from Friday night till Saturday night, I’m phoneless. (Though these days I keep it with me, on silent, as the army needs a way to reach me in an emergency. Don’t use it at all tho.) Do so for religious reasons, but it is healthy to disconnect occasionally.

I get the idea behind this, but a phone is still a phone. Imagine you are out someplace and get into a wreck and you don’t have a basic tool like a phone. Just because you have the phone with you doesn’t mean you have to use it at any point.

I have not yet done this out of fear of some emergency requiring swift action and kids being kids, I don’t want to chance it.

Never. I want my older kids to keep theirs handy in case we want to split up and regroup later. (One is autistic and scatterbrained and I’d rather not have to track him down.) However, they are for utilitarian purposes and emergencies only.

More often than you'd think. I cant count how many times I get 5 miles down the road and I realize I forgot my phone. I'm not turning around at that point. And the amount of times I have to use my watch to find my phone, that I lost in the house, is ridiculous.

We did that in Austin on holiday. Put the GPS in the box. Pulled it out when we needed to get back to the hotel.

Loads. Also a fan of “grayscaling” the phone. Triple click the home button on iPhone and voila- colorless. Makes looking at it unpleasant.

I can't be the only one that just triple-clicked their home button to no avail. I never heard of the grayscale option.
