Man, I wish I’d had an uncle or grandfather take an interest in me. Even a single older man guiding me would have made such a huge difference. Men out here crying about not having a way to make a difference. Reach out to a kid in your family and give guidance. Change a life.

This is the driving force in my life - to be "Uncle Josh" or "Big Brother Josh" to anybody I can. It's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It's also very hard.

20 years ago I started mentoring young people. Many of them have turned out okay. Some of them, not so much. Heroin Overdoses. Suicide. Jail. It's hard to see it, and it weighs on me. Could I have done better? Could I have helped them more? The hope is that I've done what I can.

Doing the good work that needs to be done. You can’t save them all because you’re trying to bail out the Titanic with a soup spoon, but you’ve definitely made a difference in many lives you have saved.
