Wrote 3,100 words in my spare time this week. Landing to jump that up to 8,000 during the week and 10k on the weekend. 18k a week will get me a complete book per month.

72k words? Pretty standard for modern indie novels.

You realize at your 5th book, I’ve written 7 with the same number of words. ;)

Have written 7 actually (one in the drawer for the immediate future.) More words of course, and a bit slower, but also it means fewer covers to commission.pic.twitter.com/2u0kDZOtMc

That said, I do aim for my IDF Isekai series, once it really gets moving, to have books that max out around the 50-70k range. Depends on the genre. I don't see any of my Galaxy Ascendant or epic fantasy books ever being less than 100k.
