My father has worked every weekend that I’ve been alive. He runs his own business now and mentally is working 24/7. He never pauses. Every family event can stop at a moment’s notice for him to work instead. Work comes first. Fathers, we need to provide. But don’t be like this.

Not throwing shade at my father. We were brutally poor and he fed us from his own two hands by working himself nearly to death. But there comes a point when the scales tip and you stand back from the desk. Where you shift priority back to family. Not every man knows how.

If you were “brutally poor” he may still be fighting against that. Something deeply entrenched in him.

From a trailer park kid with a single mom to running his own million-dollar business in 40 years, I’d say you’re right.
