I’m also wondering—just as a pragmatic question, you understand—if they are willing to greatly diminish Father’s availability so that he can spend the necessary time with his wife and children, a part of his vocation as husband and father.
Our parish shares one priest and one associate priest with at least 3 or 4 separate parishes. They’re hard pressed as it is to tend to the faithful. I can’t imagine how the system wouldn’t collapse if they had families to care for, or how their children wouldn’t collapse as well.
