The issue is not only one of escalating luxury and hedonism. What has been lost as mindful enjoyment has diminished? As the human mind is saturated in constant luxury and instant satiation on demand, what happens to their spiritual attachment? To meaning and value of experience?

Imagine hauling water in several buckets and then heating it and pouring them into your bath. In a way you are actually crafting your own bath through labor. How good would that feel to finally sink in and luxuriate in the bath you created? Instant gratification is shallow.

Be sure to actively create your own experiences. The deepest immersion comes from involvement in creation.
