My dad was a trailer park kid raised by an ex-Catholic angry that the Church said her divorcing the father of her 5 kids and shacking up to make a 6th wasn’t right. My mom’s rich atheist father disowned and disinherited her for converting to Christianity. Thread/

People overlook sometimes that God reserves the right to punish generation after generation. Sin has a weird way of being heritable though we laugh at that. The most frustrating mistakes I see in my children are mine.

This last point is spot on. I taught CCD for 4 years and over half never attended church. Those kids left my class knowing far more about their religion than their parents did. It was kind of sad.
