We’ve heard enough about doormat Christianity. Where are the Old Testament men?
I suspect we’re splitting hairs when in fact we aren’t dissimilar. My contention is that modern men have been led to believe we must be watered down and cowering when in fact we are called to be fierce and upright, as the men of old. That Old Testament boldness must be present.

The men of old did not cower and grovel for approval. Neither did they sit quietly as evil was performed. And neither, as you rightly pointed out, did our New Testament forebears. So then why do we?
