Every time I go to work, I start getting ready and my son tries to stop me. He tells me, “Daddy, you have noooo work.” And every time I question what my ancestors could possibly have been thinking to trade family farms where they all worked together for these lonely urban lives.

There was about 70 years between people leaving small farms en masse and the divorce epidemic, more than that for the other two. I'd say we're looking for different causes.

Generational breakdown of attachments from healthy to absolutely broken takes time. Multiple layers of societal framework have to break down alongside the familial alienation. 2-3 generations down would begin to manifest serious problems. Right about 70 years.
