Men are taught to exert pressure in a handshake as a show of assertiveness and respect. That conflicts hard with the training not to hurt women. Thus, for many men, shaking hands with a woman is confusing because both sets of training fight against each other at the same moment.

I was doing that anyway, but because I wanted men to treat me like an equal and not like a weakling. Serious. I've gotten more ground with firm handshake than a low cut shirt.

This is true. Also, I instantly think 'I can take you' if a guy has a limp arsed handshake.

Ah, good. I'm a squeezer. And I hate shaking hands with most women - their hands feel so fragile and they're often limp.
-
Oh lord yes. That gets instant contempt from me. I immediately assume “female sissy.” Especially if her hand is cold, for some reason.

I give a firm handshake and adjust pressure as needed depending on response. What I cannot stand are the men who have to physically crush your hand. When I can see the forearm flexing and them straining to grip hard, it's a tell they have no idea what they're doing.
-
I do that and scream a little.
