Men and women should be having firm discussions about life goals, children, marriage, division of labor, religion, and life mission on the very first date. Drives away the time wasters and makes the goal-driven partners obsess over you. Stop wasting time. Stop being timid.

My ten year marriage with my wife. The ton of people with long-lasting marriages commenting on my marriage posts over the last few days. My work as a professional marriage counselor. :)

Even more important to maintain total openness about goals and expectations from the start, then. God provides all factors and expectations up front for us before we enter into covenant with him. Marriage is also a covenant and should have all expectations openly discussed.

The only goal of dating is to determine if the other person is compatible as a life partner for the covenant between both partners and God. Skip the timidity and boldly state your intentions. Demand answers. Then test them extensively before committing with finality.
