Vector Prime set the tone well; a nihilistic mess. I stuck with it through Star By Star, then gave up. The NJO was the literary equivalent of the Disney movie trilogy as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, Salvatore is why I picked it up. I read most of the other SW books until then, but was getting burned out. I saw his name and figured it would be a good read. It was, but it was also a pivot, and the IP was never the same. I don't read SW any more, except older books.
