Regardless what talentless Hollywood writers do with reboots, they cannot diminish the impact of the originals. Originals shaped us. We grew up with them. They taught us about heroism and humor and lighthearted fun. They remain a piece of us now. Reboots cannot diminish impact.

They caused me to understand how all the entertainment industry is just pointless brainwashing to get our money, even those originals we loved. It was all for money. They fool you into believing you have some special relationship with them, but you don't. You're just a consumer.

Kids today treat these horrible reboots with the same level of nostalgia and love we have for the originals. It was all just brainwashing, geekdom was always a lie.

We’re talking about two different things. One is individuals learning from stories and holding those lessons dear. The other is fandom toward corporate brands.

But that's what I'm saying. Those lessons were always a lie. Look at how they're abusing words today to mean whatever they want. They always did this, it's just that we were exposed to their bullshit at a young age and it shaped us.

Ben Hur taught me an awful lot about faith and the virtue of patience. Return of the Jedi taught me a lot about self sacrifice. Lessons remain, regardless of how modern writers have twisted them or how the original financial backers hoped to cash in.

I’m not going to get STAR WARS tattooed on my face and buy General Leia tampons. That’s mindless fandom and consumerism. But I am going to hold dear the lessons I learned from the original stories, lessons which continue to serve me well today.

Bruh. That was so awkward to watch with my little sister as kids.
