The same could be applied to bodybuilding, running etc if their efforts have borne no fruits and their body is still unhealthy.

Weight training is a good example of what he's talking about. As long as you have some kind of progression and consistency you'll get results, eventually. It might take you 10 years to get where you could have gotten in 5. So the fact that someone got results doesn't mean much.

E.g. some advertising executives in Russia with 15+ years of experience are 20 years behind the curve compared to the rest of the world. Many obvious and fundamental things are new to them. Since they are satisfied with their results and market doesn't know any better
