People with anxiety often apologize constantly for every mistake or request. This becomes tiresome to others who feel compelled to assuage the anxiety. Instead of apologizing, thank the other person. They’ll be pleased by your gratitude. This makes you a delight in conversation.

Could you clarify a bit more on thanking them? As a person often jokingly referred to as the Canadian because I apologize so much, it'd be appreciated!!

Actually this is fairly accurate. Finding a reason to thank them which does NOT involve insulting yourself makes for refreshing gratitude.
