Coworker had a meeting with his son's teacher where they urged him to put the boy on ADHD medication. Out of curiosity, he dropped in the classroom one day and noted every boy but his own was acting very mellow. Turns out almost every one in the class but his kid was on meds.

CPS is a bloated and terrible monstrosity these days, weaponized by grandparents and teachers.

Unpopular opinion Maybe all teachers aren’t heroes Maybe some love getting summers off and generally don’t really care for the whole “dealing with kids” stuff Non sequitur: I know a lot of miserable teachers

Translation: The teacher had to do their job and they got mad about it. Now the kid needs to be put in a chemical straightjacket to make the teacher's life easier.

Ah yes sweet memories. I remember spending 4 hours in the principals office in Junior High because I fell asleep one time in class and the teacher thought I was drunk.

There are a lot of parents who avoid diagnosis because they don't want the stigmatism of having a label - it is important that teachers raise the question about seeing a doctor for diagnosis. AND I do agree that pushing meds as a teacher is wrong.
