Like we didn’t attend Catholic school back in the day when every Mass involved a hippy on a guitar singing “Like a Sunflower.”

Like we didn’t see altar rails destroyed before we were ever taught what they were for, only being able to morn the loss years later when we stumbled upon their purpose as we read ourselves back into the serious practice of the Catholic Faith.

I have been through the liturgical nonsense. I have seen the dancing, done the hand motions, sang the vapid, sappy songs. I have learned that my patrimony was *stolen* from me and I have had to *fight* for ever bit of it that I could uncover.

Maybe my “lived experience” is worth something? Maybe it’s worth just as much as the “lived experience” of those who are nostalgic for the days when Mass was celebrated out of a binder whose pages changed every day? Just a thought.

Just read that giant thread myself. I’ll be having as many kids as God will give me and I’ll raise them in the Church so your response is encouraging. They need substance, not pandering.
