Ok and insisting on telling everyone what’s “right” does what exactly?

I think that can be true if you have a personal relationship/know them well enough to be giving advice on morality. It should never be done for entertainment or as a shaming in a public forum.

“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24-25

“Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.” Galatians 6:1

You’re both correct. We absolutely do need to share hard truths with one another so that we may help each other escape the snares of the Devil. But we must also teach in love so that the warnings may be heeded and not sound like the screeching of some enemy.

My thinking is that most of us know what our failings or sins are. We are working on them or decided we don’t care. Few of us are unaware of what is appropriate and not. So are we shaming people who refuse to conform/care about our warnings? That’s what it seems like.

There are definitely people who don’t know what they are doing is wrong or they don’t realize how serious it is. I’ve been one of those guilty of sin without knowing. Allowing someone to ignorantly continue in sin is not loving.

I get what you are saying & I’ve been guilty of many sins in my life & when people told me I didn’t care, it was something I had to come to understand & care about on my own. people go overboard and hurt others in trying to prove a point/be right.

I understand what you mean. That sort of engagement pushes people away from God because it displays no mercy or compassion. Jesus didn’t chase after people and spit nasty parting words at them.
