The sugar will help to balance the lime juice and any vinegary toppings you put on this. It will probably also mix with the lime juice, oil, and chicken juice to make a glaze. How will you cook it?

Because I just can't leave a recipe alone. Avocado oil if you have it. Halve and slice an onion and toss it with the chicken and the marinade. Use a sweet onion if you can - Vidalia would be my first choice, but a Walla Walla Walla or Texas Sweet would be ok.
