Somewhere around the 90s/00s Disney animated movies started to revolve around their protagonists having a coming of age discovery of their sense of identity. Not a bad thing by itself but I couldn't disagree that it got a touch overused.

It's interesting how many of the older Disney movies were about their characters just confidently out doing things and not having identity crises.

Is that fair? I’m pretty sure every recent movie’s had the protagonist needing to take responsibility for and fix some grand mistake towards the climax, which often involves some sacrifice...

Sleeping Beauty was my favorite because of Prince Philip and Aladdin was my other favorite growing up. I love Tangled, but I consider it the only great one to come out in recent years.

Sleepy Beauty is my favorite old school Disney movie and I have to restrain myself from talking about it at length every time someone mentions it.

Watch the first run of Samurai Jack. The recent restart, I'm not so sure about.

My dad and my brother and I used to go see all the new Disney musicals in the theaters when I was a kid. We all loved those.

The Disney princess stuff is even worse. You're lucky you have never seen Sophia the First.
