Oh god... the gym... it's HORRIBLE full of NYE resolution people! If you lift then you'll actually need to eat more, for better gains. Losing weight via cardio is for chumps.

Also, focus on losing inches, not pounds. If you start lifting you'll put on muscle and bone density, so you'll gain weight, but drop belt notches. I went down 3 jeans sizes, but my weight stayed mostly static when I was lifting 3x a week
