Nice, thank you for pointing it out. I understand the concept of picking up something heavy, setting it down, and repeating, but nothing beyond that.

Sit down and ready on stronglifts, it's specifically for newbie lifters like yourself. Basically you start with an empty bar.. and slowly add weight. That site has everything you need to know on diet, form etc.

If you want to practice form, with just your bodyweight, go and get a broom handle, and use that as a prop bar..
