We had a very old deacon who said we should think of praying to the saints as taking a shortcut because God is very busy and the saints help with duties... still kinda confused there.

Agreed. It’s a life’s work to learn all this and that’s why I want this for my offspring and legacy. The war against the enemy is like filling a bucket with marbles, every little act counts for the total. You need to claim every marble you can get while plugging leaks and holes.

Evangelical Protestant faiths had too few marbles for me. The Catholic Church is like a marble factory.
