It should be noted that it is impossible to be a faithful Catholic and never pray to the saints, as the Solemnities of Holy Mary, the Mother of God, her Immaculate Conception and her Assumption; St. Joseph; St. Peter and St. Paul, Apostles; and All Saints are Days of Precept.
I guess I’m unclear on what that means. It means attendance in Mass is required?

Yes. Though in the US we only keep the obligation to attend Mass attached to the three Marian feasts and All Saints. Plus Christmas and the Ascension, though some dioceses transfer the Ascension to Sunday.
