It should be noted that it is impossible to be a faithful Catholic and never pray to the saints, as the Solemnities of Holy Mary, the Mother of God, her Immaculate Conception and her Assumption; St. Joseph; St. Peter and St. Paul, Apostles; and All Saints are Days of Precept.
Forgive me for asking but RCIA didn’t cover this. What does this mean?

“Day of Precept” is another way of saying “Holy Day of Obligation.” And I should note that national bishops’ conferences have some authority to remove the obligation. For example, in the US we remove the obligation from St. Joseph and St. Peter and St. Paul, Apostles.

These are days we’re required to attend Mass, yes? RCIA didn’t cover those at all, but I was given to understand its better to carjack a pregnant lady during a blizzard and use her car to get to Mass than it is to miss Mass even once, so we’re generally good about it...

Days of precept are (basically) Holy Days of Obligation.
-
I guess I’m unclear on what that means. It means attendance in Mass is required?
