By the way I am not a fan of self-driving cars myself either. But I was thinking about it. Why does it feel so freaky? Is it really any worse to die to a faulty software than to die to an asshole driver?

For me the quetion isn't "would it be 100% safe", but "how much safer would it be than traditional cars"? Bc unless it is statistically safer, probably not a lot of people would want to buy/use them.

And I think at least _some_ level of automation could be a good thing. Software don't panic when the car slips on ice and if the code is good, the reaction time can be a lot shorter than human. See also ABS and ESC.

I and Jim were talking about self-driving cars and how they may or may not be the end of the world. I don't know what You are talking about. Instigating fistfights and all.
