During RCIA I was told Confession is not a big deal, I don’t need to go more than once a month, and venial sins don’t really need to be confessed unless I’ve got nothing else. So they allot 15 minutes per week for the entire parish at 7:15am before Mass.
Thoughts, @padrebrendon?

Have you tried calling for an appointment at a different time?

I have not. Seems demanding to drag the priest in for just the two of us when it sounds like they’ve got a full schedule.

I don't go monthly... But I don't feel demanding to make an appointment every few months if their regular confession hours are so short.

Maybe I’ll feel them out and see what they say. As I said, it was presented to me as a little bit of an imposition to ask the priest to hear your venial sins.

It wasn’t the priest telling me this, rather it was the RCIA coaches. I should approach my priest and ask his stance on it at my next opportunity.
