Those things will help if you assume that all people are innocent and will follow the laws. Guns are used to protect from people who will prey on the weak even if they don’t need to. People who kick in doors and beat old women to death then rob their house (Happens frequently).

I have not had a peaceful life. That’s exactly the point. But my family and I are still alive because we’ve had guns to protect ourselves.

I don’t think you understand. Despite community resources being available, men chose to break into our neighborhood homes and rape and steal from the occupants. The occupants used guns as a deterrent to either not be broken into or to resist intruders. Without guns, no deterrent.

Guns acted as an equalizer and allowed small women to form a deterrent against large powerful men, so the women could protect themselves and their children.

Your solution is to... what? I’m trying to understand your thinking. Violent men have proven they will break in regardless of the availability of resources. What protects the women and children from those assaults if guns are removed?

I don’t disagree. But stripping away guns only leaves these vulnerable people exposed to predation and unrestrained violence.
