Just picked up supplies to make 5 1/2 pounds of carne asada and a heap of raw vinegar vegetables this weekend. Going back to primal times around here. Maybe I’ll hack the meat up with one of my swords.

Take pretty much any beef. Rub it with Lowry’s seasoning salt. Slice it up into pieces the size of the last knuckle of your index finger. Drop them in a bag and soak in orange juice so it’s all covered. Marinate 45 minutes. Drain and cook until all brown.

Dice up white onion and cilantro for a topping. Serve on whatever. We use tortillas, salads, a main dish with sides, whatever. Spanish rice makes a great and easy side, or an added filling for a burrito. Toss in some beans.

Meat, rice, pinto beans (home cooked or bought canned), cilantro, and onion makes a perfect burrito.
