My father also has those: "be calm, like the squirrel in the forest fire" or "like the pig at the slaughterhouse"
My father is more known for making casual outrageous statements. Like telling old women, “I bet you used to be quite a looker!” while standing in line for food AT A FUNERAL WAKE.
Or walking into a Mexican wedding and saying really loudly, “Hey, they’re speaking English!” in genuine surprise.
Or when someone said her husband died after he shot himself he asked, “On purpose?”
