If you think it’s wrong for little kids to identify with characters who have a different skin tone, lighten/darken their skin to better resemble that specific character, and celebrate that connection on a day designated for costumes, then congratulations: You’re a segregationist.

Because of violent Leftist lunatics who would see a kid getting super engaged with a character and might come after my family?

A kid loving a character and wanting to be just like that character is not a problem. People who see skin color differences like that as an issue are the problem. If my kid loves a black character that much I’m gonna encourage the hell out of him, not lecture him on segregation.

Caution because of lunatics and cultural police, yes. Anything actually wrong with changing your skin color in any direction because you admire a character or historical figure? Nope.
