I’m not even gonna come close to making an argument in either direction, but you bring up an interesting point. If a child born here is automatically a citizen elsewhere, there could perhaps be argument for some wiggle room depending on who oversees the inevitable court case.
I suspect that will be a significant part of the argument. As well as effectively snatching citizens from other nations by place of birth despite both parents being citizens of that other nation. Dual citizenship aside, do governments have ownership of citizenry? Big case.
