Exactly. It’s because a lot of people have their parents do it but many parents just wing it. Also they want a written record for the Church archives.

There’s also a Protestant denomination that doesn’t believe water is required for baptism, and the Church teaches that it is. So a person may be baptized in one denomination but not in another. The Church recognizes most baptisms as long as there’s a record and right method.

This concept is so stange for me. Even many nonreligious people have their children baptized here, but they go to the churchfor it.
