@MrsBrometheus and I are 100% committed to each other as husband and wife, and to encouraging the other toward salvation.
But we also have a pact to halt or destroy the other as necessary to protect our children if one of us becomes destructive to the kids.

There are clear lines she would never tolerate me crossing with her or the children. She would do whatever was necessary, up to and including putting a bullet in my brain, in order to protect the children from me. And I have sworn to do exactly the same. That’s parenthood.

Anyone who’d put their partner first is not being loving or compassionate to the partner. No parent in their right mind would be grateful that you left their children in harm’s way for the parent’s sake. If you love your partner, protect your children first.

Being a parent means being prepared to kill or die in defense of your children. That includes guarding against your spouse. Do whatever is necessary to stop them from harming the children. Do whatever is necessary to prevent yourself from harming or allowing them to be harmed.
