When @MrsBrometheus and I decided to have kids we committed to a division of labor. She stays home to mother them 24/7, I work 60 hours at 2 jobs and help out when I’m home.
We don’t play the “which one of us works harder” game because we are a solid team with a firm agreement.

Even more so if you’re both working and can’t afford to stay home. Division of labor becomes crucial. Have the conversation, negotiate openly, and avoid building resentment. If you’re old enough to have kids you’re old enough to set your petty feelings aside and work as a team.
