The weird bickering about stay at home parents versus working parents is inane and misguided at every level. Both groups work hard. If you’re in a committed pair-bond and have a partner, you should each be pulling your weight under an explicit agreement for division of labor.

Even more so if you’re both working and can’t afford to stay home. Division of labor becomes crucial. Have the conversation, negotiate openly, and avoid building resentment. If you’re old enough to have kids you’re old enough to set your petty feelings aside and work as a team.
