Only took 11 hours but here’s the angry single dad demanding I stop calling fathers to keep a higher standard. No matter how positive I make the message, these guys always come out to dump their anger on me.https://twitter.com/javafour/status/1034779875247251458 …

I did not demand that you stop anything, where did I say that? I called you out for blithely ignoring the reality and injustice facing millions of American kids and dad‘s. When you have to resort to strawmen you’ve got nothing substantive in your quiver.

“Maybe instead of pompously lecturing dads you should join the fight for Family Court reform?” Instead means stop doing one thing and do another. But hey, it’s cool. Check out and sulk and whine at people who try to help. My taxes will take care of your kids for you.

Men either rise to the challenge or they don’t. There is always a way. A man who believes there is no way must search, because his kids are hurting without him. That may not mean immediate interaction with them now.

But as I said, if nothing else, a handwritten letter once a month every year until they turn 18 and then handing them the gigantic pile all at once to show your faithful devotion during separation would go a long way to healing their broken heart.

This is NOT ABOUT FATHERS. Whining about your pain is utterly useless. YOUR CHILDREN are all that matter. Rise to the challenge and find a way. Whatever that way is, however it looks, find a way.
