Can a devout, intellectually honest Catholic explain to me why they're Catholic and not Protestant Christian?

This is a real sticking point for some. The idea of consent before baptism otherwise it means nothing. Catholics baptize in case of infant death and then have the person consent later at the age of consent during confirmation, and every additional baptism renews the covenant.

That was poorly worded. Every additional baptism the person attends for others renews their own baptism.
