Let's hope. But really it is high time for some action. If not active persecution, at least to withdraw protection of insinuated clergy.

Personally I believe in public humiliation, flogging, and death by impalement as punishment for child molestation by clergy, but that wouldn’t fly for most folks.

And what is your stance on people who call their neighbor a fool or the ones angry for no reason? I am not being sarcastic here.

I believe 1) it is a sin, 2) people do it anyway, 3) it shouldn’t be an official stance. Which is why I don’t make go into a career where I could public policy because mine would be extreme and outside of allowed parameters.

That said, I do advocate for public humiliation, flogging, and death by impalement as punishment for child molestation by clergy. That makes me a bad Catholic. We all have our struggles. Mine is rage and wrath against child molesters who use God’s name to hurt children.

Now I pray every day that God will make me better in tune with Him, to make me an instrument in His hand and fit me better and better to His hand. If He changes my wrath to compassion, so be it. But right now that’s where I’m at and I can’t bring myself to honestly say otherwise.

Strong deterrents are needed. Examples are required. Fear of consequences is all that some people understand when they lose their moral conscience.

I appreciate your honesty. I was trying to highlight that we all tend to see certain sins worse than others. I was alluding to the speech on the mountain (i guess you figured). Jesus said those "small" things are worthy of judgement.

But the imo the important take away isnt that we should persecute absolutely everything the same way. But to recognize that at the end all sin is equally evil as in it is all sin against God in the first place.

And so not to fall into the error of the pharasees that we condemn others strongly while we consider ourselves without error. And not let place for pity, grace and redemption.

We also need to distinguish between mortal sins and venial sins, and the impact on victims.

This is the point where I am reminded that Catholic and Reformed theology is still significantly different ^^
