Out of curiosity, how detailed are your outlines?

I have a very specific 3-step outlining process. They’re not extremely detailed other than fight choreography.

Very little. Maybe 1-2k. My outlines got more substantial and my weekly process changed.

Hit me up if you want to talk comprehensive outlines! People who switch to my method usually significantly increase their word count and save hundreds of dollars on their car insurance.

also where did you learn to write. do you just write and edit how you want or do you try to learn about craft or what?

I spent 3 years on my first book because I was carefully learning to write and edit at the same time, plus I majored in History/English for the first half of college. I still consider myself a student and read everything I can to learn. Professional editing helps that as well.

k. I can write, I've done my reading. I have edited for money (not a lot, but some).

Passion and perseverance is what most people lack. If you’ve got those, you can make it.
