A family friend died recently. He was 62, fell and hit his head, didn’t get checked out until too late, pressure on his brain killed him. Very overweight, severe heart issue, they couldn’t operate on his brain to save him because his heart would give out. Lesson thread:

I bawled my fucking eyes out when I heard that. So many of us think our life is about our pleasure and what makes us feel fulfilled, but it’s fucking not. We live with a mission to provide for and set an inheritance for our descendants and those around us.

This man was super involved with his grandson, they had an immense bond even before the kid hit 2 years old. He didn’t care for his health and now his grandson is looking for him and can’t understand that he’s gone.

We will all die someday, but don’t leave your kids or grandkids bereft of your love and teaching for a stupid reason like being overweight or not getting a medical problem checked out. Remember that little confused kid calling for his papa and go take care of your health.
