Statue of Mary Mcleod Bethune will become the first of a Black woman in the U.S. Capitol rotunda. Other dedications to great Black women at the U.S. Capitol include Rosa Parks (statue), Sojourner Truth (bust), and Shirley Chisholm (portrait).

@MrChuckD I have Chuck to thank for burning one of Ms. McLeod’s quotes into my brain, from “Revolutionary Generation”... “The true worth of a race....must be measured by the character....of its womanhood.” Has always stuck with me

This is wonderful news. Mary Mcleod Bethune should be better well known. Thank you,
@RepValDemings, for honoring the people of this country with this statue. -
