When I thought I would be unemployed for the year, I consoled myself by saying that I could devote more time to my job app materials -- that's not consoling, either. I want to do good work now& in the future. I want to be valued for my potential, not the errors made under duress.

Also, what's the point in flagellating myself when the last time this happened (multiple weekends of research and loving effort put into a job app, and then finding some minor errors), I tore into myself so hard, only to find out that they chose to terminate the search entirely.

That is a very good policy. Normally, I'm so good about taking weekends, but right now, in working for the present, and the future, it just seems impossible. It's Thanksgiving long weekend here, though, so I'm going to take some time off and do self-care baking!

If it makes you feel any better, I have on multiple occasions discovered errors when reviewing my application after being shortlisted. So definitely don't beat yourself up about it. They probably have less impact than you think.

Thank you, Daphna!

In the "if it makes you feel better" genre, being on the other side of things, typos I've seen in applications didn't bother me in the least.
-
It really does. Thank you for the support!
