Unwritten rules are ruining baseball.
Supposed “fans” who know nothing about unwritten rules have ruined the game that was pretty successful without them.
I'm guessing it's unwritten because whoever came up with it was too embarrassed to put it in writing
its utterly ridiculous, maybe pitch better and dont go down 3-0 in the count to one of the best hitters in the sport right now, the Rangers should be embarrassed
Never heard of this unwritten rule but if you're going to lay it in there, hit it. How many times you've seen a big lead disappear. You don't take your foot off of the pedal, this isn't little league, grow up.
It’s definitely been an unwritten MLB rule for decades, but I agree that teams should keep their foot on the pedal, given all the “secure” leads that have been blown.
