can use any character as a hate symbol: just slap a swastika on the characters arm. So if you're ok with banning Pepe you're ok with banning all characters. So yes, imo you should definitely ignore some weirdos that hang out all day on 4chan spamming racist emotes.

I recommend you read that article. It's not about banning any one meme, it's about having basic respect for other people and players and creating a community that fosters that. I don't think the slippery slope argument applies when there's such a huge coalition behind this.
