it's always so strange seeing people get really aggressive with each other over fandom ships. in my earliest fandom days we'd have baby fights over which ship was THE BEST but we didn't try to destroy each other's lives over it. we didn't threaten the VAs or creators either
I’d love to know the tricks these folks use to shut out the rest of reality and focus on this sort of thing with a fury and intensity that regularly tapdances into the extreme. Their methods for shutting out current events are clearly superior to mine.
it's fans who take shipping to an extremely unhealthy level, to the point where they forget these people *are not real* and neither are the relationships, but so desperate are they to feel validated in their sickness/obsession they will openly attack creators, VAs, other fans
and the result is poisonous. a different sickness spreads, one that makes everyone drop a favorite show/fandom that previously gave them a lot of joy and a sense of community. great potential is snuffed out
