true. I try to befriend all. When sharing my opinion, I don't force it, and hope for the same from others. But these days, that's rarely the case. I don't mind things being black/white, right/wrong or whatever.. but.. to shout down someone for their belief is wrong.
As an admitted part of the problem here, I sincerely disagree. There is a growing list of beliefs that do not deserve my or your or anybody’s honest intellectual consideration.

There's a difference between "giving intellectual consideration" and being kind/respectful even if you disagree. Sure, if someone is 24x7 espousing things you disagree with, maybe it's time for a mute or to part ways depending on tone. But today's "facts" are not tomorrow's.
