Well, to be kinda fair, there are folks who would have put Obama in the political neophyte category as well. I’m not exactly waving the flag for Oprah here, mind you.

Obama at least had experience as a community organizer and, however brief, a US Senator. I agree, not the most qualified candidate ever, but he knew more than just what he learned watching The West Wing.

Also a Constitutional Law professor, don’t forget! Still, it’s just as important who a candidate surrounds themselves with as who they themselves are. Obama, after all, found the single most qualified person he could get for Secretary of State.
