OK so fellow Fire Mages. Do we only get effective at AoE with later talents and such? I'm almost 60 and instant Flamestrike is not doing it for me. Should I be blinking in and out for Dragon's Breath, or just wait until Ignite and Meteor are available to me?

Wonky class balance issues and OP specs in that level range make it not worth the sweat on your brow. DKs, Monks and Paladins will invariably do more damage. Your numbers will only ever matter in endgame content.
