Personally, I’d be happy if canon got through everything without endorsing any romantic ship. The mission is more important than romance.
VLD ships are okay, but I don’t think that’s the point of the show. It’s about working as a team with different people to change the world.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I have my ships in the original series, but I honestly can't see any in VLD. And the fanaticism is scary.
